When fragrance is inhaled, millions of olfactory receptor cells which line the inside of the nose are picking up the molecules from the fragrance which causes the nervous system to fire and send messages to the limbic portion of the brain. [...] What is Aromatherapy?…Just the word itself makes people think it’s all about the smell, something similar to parfumery. However, it has very little to do with perfumes that are sold in malls and popular websites by posh designers like Channel or Estee Lauder or candles that are sold in grocery stores and advertised on TV. |
