Essential Oils for Mind and Soul

Autumn LeavesAutumn is almost here…I gotta be honest, I will miss the golden season and the ground covered in yellow and auburn leaves, which we were lucky to have in Atlanta. However, California spoils us with plenty of sunshine, summer breeze and cool evenings…

I found this weather to be very inspirational to my creative mind and my spiritual side. Recently so many ideas have been over-populating my mind and I can’t wait to have time to turn those into reality. Sometimes I feel like I want to turn my mind off and take a break (especially at 2am) but my thoughts take over and I end up welcoming sunrise and I love it, but being tired during the day is not an ideal situation when you have a business to run and family to look after.

So I decided I have to ground my mind, basically to calm it down and give it time to rest, switch off and rejuvenate. All my experiments and tests are done on myself, so 3 days into my “grounding” program I found myself falling asleep at 11pm and waking up refreshed and energized at 6.30pm. Not bad at all for an overactive and restless Sagittarius like myself. Let me share with you what I did, I am sure that many will find it useful.
Naturally I decided to make a blend of oils, which will calm my mind, calm my adrenals and give me a feeling of peace and support. Essential oils of Spikenard, Ylang Yland, Siberian Pine and Rosewood did the trick. I was applying the blend right after my 8pm shower on my feet and half an hour later I could feel that I was no longer in the mood to look at my laptop, but to cozy up in bed, read Jane Eyre or watch something soothing like Blue Planet DVD.

Another great trick to calm down your nervous system is to drop few drops (3-4) of lavender or Roman chamomile essential oils on a face cloth along, then lather some shower gel on it and wash your body with it under the warm stream of water or in a warm bath tab. This bath blend along with organic wash cloth will be available on Nature’s Lovers website in November, right on time for Christmas gifts :) .
Our Sweet Dreams blend will also help you to drift off to peaceful sleep and our Relaxing Breath blend will help you to let go of all the worries, which hectic day brought into your life.
There is another side of how essential oils help me to boost my meditation and yoga practice. Sandalwood, Frankincense and Myrrh are such deep spiritual substances that inhaling those alone, can bring you to the state of light meditation and awaken your spiritual abilities. We have an excellent Yoga Spray available on our website, it’s been tested by yoga teachers and myself to help us with relaxation and deepen the practice.

Don’t be shy, email us with question or request a sample of one of our blends. We will be happy to introduce our aromatic creations into your life.

Have a blessed month of September!
